PARSONS, Alfred William (1847-1920). Painter & illustrator.
Autograph Letter Signed on both sides of a correspondence-card to Lady Lockyer, 54 Bedford Gardens, 10 February 1905. Declining an invitation to her 'Smoker' on account of a prior engagement, but promising to look in later if possible.

The recipient is perhaps Thomazine Mary, née Browne (1851-1943), second wife of Sir Joseph Norman Locker (1836-1920, astronomer and journal editor). She was a 'noted feminist and Unitarian' (Oxford DNB).
