Thanking him for his letter and suggestions regarding Irish poets for the Oxford Book of Twentieth Century Verse ('it comes about eighteen months too late to be of any practical help'). '... From what you say it sounds as if you would have done a better job than I, but that would not have been difficult. ... Alan Denson (b. 1930) was the author of several books on Irish writers including George William Russell, Seumas O'Sullivan and Padraic Colum as well as his own poetry. The letter is accompanied by Denson's retained typewritten copy of his long letter to Larkin which elicited this response, 2 pages 4to, 7 April 1972. [No: 26005]
