Autograph Letter Signed to Mrs Roget, 2½ pages 8vo, 48 Bedford Square, 2 December 1831. Declaring his embarrassment at having double-booked himself for dinner the following day, and begging Mrs Roget to extricate him from one of the engagements.

'... I not only deeply regret my disappointment in missing the honor of Mrs Coltmans company but also that of Mrs Somerville of which I have long been desirous. I will willingly give up my claims for music if you can procure me this pardon ...'
