WORLD WAR I - Royal Air force The Pilot's Flying Log Book of Lieutenant G[eorge] Adrian Binning, August 1918 to February 1919, 46 pages, rather worn, with related material. All the entries, which include cross-country flying, bombing practice, engine troubles etc. are for the No. 18 Training Depot based at RAF Helwan in Egypt, a base that was used in both the first and second world wars. The associated material includes Binning's British War and Victory medals; various real photographs, largely depicting himself; a folder of aerial reconnaissance photographs taken at Heliopolis, Aboukir, Ismailia etc.; his passport as a shipping clerk, aged 23, for a visit to Russia in 1910'; his discharge certificate from the third batallion of the Welsh Regiment, February 1916; his Royal Flying corps Training Transfer card containing his various test certificates, and a luggage tag for 'Wounded Officers' Kit' in Binning's name, from Tigne Hospital Sliema, Malta, undated.
