WILLIAM IV (1765-1837). King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Autograph Letter Signed ('William R', as king, i.e. 1830-1837), 1½ pages 4to with leaf bearing a contemporary endorsement, 'Sunday Morning', no date. Recommending to Lord Liverpool's attention the case of Colonel Dalrymple, who had served him for twenty-three years, and whom the duke had been obliged to dismiss 'contrary to my wishes, but from reducing my entire family'. The endorsement suggests that the letter is indeed written to Lord Liverpool [Charles Cecil Cope Jenkinson (1784-1851), third earl; son of Liverpool the prime minister].
