QUILLER-COUCH, Sir Arthur Thomas (1863-1944). Man of letters. Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent ('Dear Madam'), 1½ pages 8vo with integral blank (slight traces of former mounting), Fowey Yacht Club, 16 July 1896. Discussing a photograph of some jugs which had belonged to his father, one of which was now in his own possession, and asking for further information. 'You are welcome, as far as I am concerned, to use the photograph of which you write. But are you sure there is no mistake? My father (Thomas Quiller Couch of Bodmin) had one to two quaint jugs: & the best of them - a veritable Whitsun Ale jug, shaped something like this [two small sketches] is now in my possession. ...'
