Group of seven Autograph Letters Signed, in all 3½ pages 4to, one with address-leaf, and 10 pages 8vo, 1838 to 1876, where dated.
Autograph Letter Signed to the Rev William P Spencer, St John's, 26 June 1828; sending, somewhat belatedly, the results of Cambridge examinations and declining an invitation to visit.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. NZealand') to an unnamed correspondent, Eton College, Windsor, 20 November 1841; regretting that there is no room on the ship on which he is to sail, but promising to remember his correspondent's protégé should any of the party require a maid.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. NZealand') to Trench, Richmond, Surrey, 14 February 1855 (slight traces of former mounting in the margin); discussing at length his own and Trench's intention to formulate 'a complete Interlingual system of etymological and Idiomatic comparison, upon the plan of uniform arithmetical notation, by which one English Index would unlock all languages'.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. Lichfield') to De Bunsen, on embossed writing paper of the House of Lords, 23 June 1868; thanking Bunsen for his letter ('Such kind words of sympathy and cooperation go to my heart'), and informing him that he has written to the Archdeacon to say that the Standing Committee can see to the readjustment of the boundaries of the Deaneries.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. Lichfield') to an unnamed lady ('Dear Madam'), The Palace, Lichfield, undated (watermark 1871) (somewhat soiled); congratulating her on the Dr Goodford's satisfactory report on her grandson.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. Lichfield') to 'My dear Edmund', The Palace Lichfield, no date (watermark 1872);postponing the hour of dinner as 'Our party has arrived'.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.A. Lichfield') to the Rev W. Prosser, The Palace, Lichfield, 4 April 1876; a letter of sympathy, referring to Prosser's desire to leave Wolverhampton, and offering comfort.
Together with a letter (third person, secretarial) to White, no place, no date; thanking White for a copy of his Life in Christ.
