MONET, Claude (1840-1926). French impressionist painter.
Autograph Letter Signed to Gustave Geffroy, 1 page 8vo in characterstic purple ink, with envelope, Giverny, 28 June 1909. Arranging for a visit on the following Thursday and telling him that the car would meet him at the station at Vernon.
'Entendu cette fois pour jeudi, l'auto vous attendra a la gare de Vernon.'
The art critic Gustave Geffroy was particularly close the the Impressionists. He was to be the author of a study of Monet Claude Monet, sa vie, son temps, son oeuvre, (1922).
