VAMBERY, Arminius (1832-1913). Hungarian traveller and writer.
Autograph Letter Signed to 'My dear Captain May', probably William (later Sir William) Henry May, 1849-1930, 1 page 8vo, Athenæum Club, 15 May 1891. Asking May to call on him the following day at the Athenæum 'to talk over with you our matter in question'.
William Henry May, who had been appointed Captain at the early age of thirty-eight, had been navigating officer of Sir George Strong Nares's arctic expedition of 1875-6. At the time of this letter he was naval attaché to the European states.
